In many small businesses the question “who has not paid us yet?” has only one honest answer, and it lives inside Tally on the accountant’s computer. The sales manager rings the accounts person, the accounts person exports a report, someone forwards it on WhatsApp, and by evening it is already out of date. This page explains how a simple dashboard takes that report out of the accounts room and puts it in front of the people who actually chase payments.

Short answer. A Tally outstanding dashboard reads your receivables from Tally Prime and shows them in a web page: customer-wise, ageing-wise, with a follow-up list. It is read-only, it does not replace Tally, and your team opens it from a phone or laptop.

The problem it solves

Tally is excellent at keeping accounts. It was never designed to be opened by five different people on five devices. Typical symptoms we hear from owners and managers in Chennai and Ambattur:

  • The sales team does not know which customers are overdue until accounts tells them.
  • The owner asks for the outstanding list every Monday and waits for someone to prepare it.
  • Follow-up depends on one person’s memory and a notebook.
  • Nobody can see, at a glance, which customer has crossed 30, 60 or 90 days.

What the dashboard shows

ViewWhat you can seeWho uses it
Outstanding by customerTotal due from each party, largest firstOwner, sales manager
Ageing bucketsHow long each amount has been pendingAccounts, owner
Follow-up listWhom to call today, in priority orderSales and collections team
Payables to suppliersWhat you owe and when it falls dueOwner, accounts

The exact columns and filters are agreed with you. A trading business may want to filter by salesperson; a manufacturer may want it by region or product line.

How it works, in plain terms

  1. Connect. We set up a secure link between Tally Prime and a web dashboard hosted for you.
  2. Refresh. Data is pulled live or on a schedule, whichever suits your accounts routine.
  3. Share. Each person gets a login. They see only what you decide they should see.

Your accounting entries continue to happen in Tally exactly as before. The dashboard is only a window.

Is this right for you?

It is a good fit if you are happy with Tally, your receivables are the headache, and more than one person needs the numbers. It is probably not what you need if your real problem is stock, production or order tracking. In that case a full ERP may be the better answer; read Tally vs Odoo for small business and Odoo for small manufacturers before deciding.

FAQs

Tally Dashboard — Common Questions

1. Can I see Tally outstanding receivables on my phone?

Yes. We build a web dashboard that reads receivables from Tally Prime and shows them on a phone, tablet or laptop browser, customer-wise and ageing-wise. Your team opens a link instead of asking the accountant to send a report.

2. Is the data live or refreshed on a schedule?

It depends on your setup. Some businesses are fine with data refreshed at set times during the day; others want it closer to live. We agree this with you at the start, because it affects how the connection to Tally is built.

3. Does the dashboard let people edit Tally or only view it?

Only view. The dashboard is a read-only window on your receivables, so the sales team can see who to follow up without any risk of changing accounts. Entries still happen in Tally.

4. Do I have to replace Tally or move to Odoo for this?

No. This is for businesses that are happy with Tally and just want its numbers to be visible outside the accounts room. If you are weighing a move to a full ERP, our Tally vs Odoo comparison explains when that makes sense.

5. Who builds this for businesses in Ambattur and Chennai?
